Unlike couples, family, or group therapy, individual therapy focuses solely on you. This allows for a deeper understanding of the issues and more time to develop coping skills and techniques to help one handle difficult situations. The goal of individual therapy is to inspire change and improve the quality of life through self awareness and self-exploration.

Group members are almost always surprised by how rewarding the group can be. The group can act as a support network, a sounding board, can assist with specific ideas for difficult situations and hold one accountable. Regularly talking and listening to others also helps put one’s own problems in perspective. Many people experience mental health difficulties, but few speak about them, let alone to people they don’t know. It can be a relief to hear others discuss their issues, and realize you are not alone. Diversity is also a benefit of group therapy.
